Commplicated marks a record year of growth with senior appointments and Nordic expansion through the launch of Commplicated.Design

The past year has been a big one for Commplicated.

Off the back of strong momentum across our deep tech portfolio, we’ve experienced a record year of growth, and we’re now taking our next step in Europe. That includes welcoming two senior leaders to the team and opening a new design studio in Copenhagen, expanding how we support founders from strategy through to brand and visual identity.

Strengthening our senior team

As our work with deeptech companies across Europe continues to grow, so does the need for experienced leadership to support founders navigating complexity, scale and investor conversations.

We’re excited to welcome Paul Southall who joins Commplicated as Portfolio Director, and Gabrielle Dunbar who joins as Director. Both are now part of our senior leadership team and bring deep experience across communications and brand strategy for technology ventures and investors. Their addition further strengthens our ability to partner closely with ambitious deep tech companies at critical stages of growth.

Expanding into the Nordics with Commplicated.Design

Alongside these hires, we’re expanding our European footprint into the Nordics through a new partnership with Copenhagen-based design studio HEAVTY.

As part of this partnership, HEAVY™ will rebrand as Commplicated.Design, a new design and branding studio within the Commplicated group.

The collaboration brings together Commplicated’s expertise in strategic communications for early-stage deep tech companies with HEAVY’s long-standing experience in solving complexity through design. Together, we now connect strategy, storytelling and visual identity under one roof, helping founders align how their company looks, feels and communicates.

Making deep tech understandable and investable

Deeptech founders often face a familiar challenge: translating highly complex technology for audiences who think commercially.

As Hailey founder of Commplicated, explains:

With Commplicated.Design, we’re helping founders translate technical depth into investor-ready narratives, supported by design that makes those stories tangible and memorable.
